Student membership dues are $35 per year. Some school based locations may collect additional dues to use for projects. If you wish to attend one of the 17 PIHRA location meetings, you may be charged a fee to attend.
Yes! You may join online as long as you meet the eligibility requirements. To join online, visit pihra.org/join-pihra/ and Select Student.
Cost: Student members pay $35 for an annual membership, while professional members pay $175. Students can renew each year for $35, while professional members renew each year at $150. Otherwise, everything is the same with the exception that student members are not voting members and cannot hold a leadership position at a professional chapter.
No. The membership does not run on a calendar year. It is based on the anniversary date of your membership.
No, unfortunately, you are not eligible for the student membership. However, you are eligible for the fully-employed discount of $50 the standard membership rate. Email membership@pihra.org for more information.
If you reside within our geographic footprint, the answer is No. PIHRA students must select a chapter. However, you can attend any chapter event at the student member rate. If a student lives outside of our geographic footprint, they can select PIHRA at Large as their preferred chapter.
PIHRA student chapters have regular meetings on campus. Elected student officers run the chapters with the assistance of a chapter advisor and sponsoring professional PIHRA chapter members. For a list of PIHRA student chapters, click here and scroll down to Student Chapters.

Renew online with a credit card; it’s easy. Login to pihra.org with your username at the top right of the home page. If you don’t remember your password, contact PIHRA at (424) 329-0210 or membership@pihra.org, and we will reset it for you. Once logged in, you will be taken to your “Manage PIHRA Profile” section. Click on “Securely Renew Your Membership Now” and follow the commands.
Yes, the student membership guarantees members a full 12 months of service. Once it expires, you can take advantage of our exclusive offer to upgrade your student membership to a regular membership for only $100.
Yes. Research indicates that 70% of jobs are found through networking. Becoming part of PIHRA gives you access to our network of more than 3,500 members. While PIHRA does not offer formal job placement assistance, we do offer the opportunity to meet and build relationships with the HR professionals in California.
No. Students must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program, such as a Bachelor’s degree, and taking a minimum number of credits as indicated previously.
While certificate programs are worthwhile educational opportunities, they do not qualify you for student membership. However, we do offer individuals who are attending at least one course a Fully-Employed Student discount.
